TESDA Provincial Director  of Compostela Valley Dr. Remegias Timonio orient the TWSP trainees from Nabunturan, Compostela Valley, Davao Region on the purpose of TESDA in implementing TVET programs.

2nd batch ORGANIC AGRICULTURE PRODUCTION NC II DEC 9 TO 20 2013

       This post is focused on information sharing on the implementation of the 2nd batch of Organic Agriculture Production  NC II course conducted by ACES Polytechnic College, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

       The first course conducted can be viewed in this blogspot under the title 1st Organic Agriculture NC II.

         Pictures of activities and the list of participants of this 2nd batch are taken from a cell phone camera and with simple editing. These are posted  to provide information to our prospective guests invited to the Graduation activities on December 19, 2013 .Friends and relatives of our participants will also be updated on the activities of the learners. 

         There are 42 participants coming from all regions in the country at two (2) participants per  Regional Agricultural Training Center (ATI) training center. Also included as participants are officers of the Farm Tourism Movers Association of the Philippines. This is an indication of the strong support of the ATI head, Dr. Asterio Saliot on ensuring that the programs of Organic Agriculture RA 10068 runs as planned for  Cy 2014.

     TESDA Board Member Isidro Antonio "Tony" Asper responded to our request to be one of our guest speaker. We are also expecting Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City  or Mayor Jun Evasco of Maribojoc , Bohol to grace the occasion and the former TESDA Director General now Department of Agriculture Consultant Edicio dela Torre   is expected to join us through a telephone hook -up during the Graduation on December 19, 2013 at 3 PM, at the ACES Farm Tourism 3-hectare Site in Panabo City.

      The course on Organic Agriculture Production NC II has a nominal duration of 232 hours with basic, common and core competencies. Core Competencies as listed in the Training Regulation include Raising Organic Chicken,  Producing Organic Vegetables, Producing Organic Fertilizer, Producing Organic Concoctions and electives Raising Organic Hogs, and Organic Small Ruminants.

         Early morning routine of watering the plants with foliar and basal fertilizer and feeding the hogs and chicken encourage the participants to wake up at 4:30 a.m. and continue the learning processes until 9 or 10 p.m. Dr. Francisco P. de la Pena, Jr. the trainor/ President / CEO of Aces Polytechnic College has kept the enthusiasm of the participants high.

Dr. Francisco P dela Pena, Jr. included additional subjects and learning objectives to the  course such as, making an incubator, construction a hog pen using bamboo and nylon ropes, chicken house with square mesh net, organic feed mixing with concoctions. Discussions are also conducted in the ACES Polytechnic Fish Cage with organically grown bangus or milk fish.

ATI Center Director Richard Rubis is actively participating in the training activities together with ATI Director Allan Almodian 

TESDA Provincial Director of Davao del Norte Dr. Urbano Budtan, provides inputs on the relationship of TESDA and DA in the TESDA Board. The Assessment and Certification takes center stage of the activities as the training course nears completion.
